The nation of Panem is a totalitarian dictatorship in a dystopian future. It is made up of its wealthy Capitol and 12 districts where most people live in poverty, exploited and oppressed by the Capitol. Each year, the Capitol holds the Hunger Games, a televised fight-to-the-death spectacle between two teenage children from each district with a single victor. After the 75th Hunger Games, a rebellion overthrows the Capitol. The surviving victors are voting on whether to hold a one-off final Hunger Games with children from the Capitol.
